History's Requiem

Those days so bright 'neath sunlit skies
Contrasted by the torn goodbyes
Memory's fade to blackness bleak
Is all I have left now to seek

In darkness now I stand alone
My soul lets out its lonesome moan
My eyes seek hope in veiled skies
Long after will succumbs and dies

In times gone my mind dare not dwell
I turn away, I say farewell
To history, to times now gone
And ne'er again will come the dawn
